This is a very unique antique piece from the Victorian era. The interior brass makers mark is engraved Fisher 188 Strand which refers to a notable London-based maker of fine boxes and cases during the Victorian era. S. Fisher, located at 188 Strand in London, was a renowned manufacturer of known for crafting high-quality items sucb as dressing boxes, vanity cases, tea caddies, writing slopes and stationery boxes. This antique rosewood vanity box was produced during the 19th Century. Whilst it is missing a few accessories from the interior, this is a magnificent find, a true testament of a bygone era. The dresing box includes two glass jars with silver lids (looks brass but needs a silver polish), a long thick glass jar with pierced silver lid, manicure tools with mother of pearl handles, and features a secret drawer that is opened by pulling out a brass pin located inside the box. Brass Bramah lock. Lid is fitted with a Mother of Pearl inlay plaque. General age related wear and tear whch is consistent for its age. Dimensions: 30.5cm (l) x 17cm (h) x 23cm (w)
