These devices were historically used in pigeon racing to accurately record the arrival times of homing pigeons. Used to record a serial number which corresponded to a band on the pigeons's leg. The clock was set and sealed. When the pigeon returned, the owner removed the band and placed it in a slot in the clock which recorded the pigeon's official time. Features an oak wooden clock case, a prominent clock face with numerical markings, and a mechanism for inserting pigeon rings to record race times. According to the Pigeon Clock Museum in The Netherlands, the clock was manufactured in 1933 in Germany.
