The Drostdy Ware Beer Castle Mug is a classic piece of South African mid-century barware. Produced by Grahamstown Potteries in the Eastern Cape, these mugs were popular during the 1950s and 60s as both functional drinkware and promotional items for Castle Lager. The pottery was founded in 1922, but the Drostdy Ware line was established around 1948 after the company was purchased by Norman Steele-Gray. There are two chips on the rim - see photos. Dimensions: 15cm (h)
