Antique writing desk, known as a Dickens style desk. Named after the famous author Charles Dickens, although he did not invent the style. The desk is characterized by its distinctive design, featuring a central sloped writing surface, a raised superstructure wtih small drawers and pigeonholes on either side. The style became popular in the Victorian era, the same period in which Dickens was a prominent figure. The desk is solid wood with a beveled mirror. General age related wear, but no damage to report.
