Austin Productions was a legendary Brooklyn-based company (active 1952–2009) that specialized in high-quality museum reproductions. The year 1968 was a prolific one for Austin. During this period, they focused heavily on "Brutalist" and "Mid-Century Modern" aesthetics, moving beyond simple Greco-Roman busts into more expressive, textured forms. Cast in a dense plaster with a hand-painted "bronze patina" finish to give the illusion of cast metal. The Austin trademark is on the inner leg of the male body. There is a scuff mark or two that needs a touch up but otherwise in good shape. Heavy in weight. Dimensions: 57cm (h) x 25cm x 18cm
