This shield, a reproduction of the original known as an ndome, was used by the Kikuyu people of central Kenya. The shields were not used in battle but were integral part of an initiation dance. The front of the shield is decorated with a geometric pattern and fitted onto a wooden plinth giving it the traditional aesthetic. Dimensions: 116cm (h)
