This is a massively large, ornate, gilt-framed mirror in baroque or Louis XVI style. Elaborate, gilded frame with detailed motifs of scrolls, acanthus leaves and floral patterns. The mirror is bevelled. The gilding exhibits a rich, aged patina with visible oxidation in the recesses. While structurally intact, the composition is notably brittle, consistent with age. There is notable touch-ups and minor stabilization to the gold leaf, particularly along the outer edges. Stunning and for sure a statement piece!! Dimensions: 156.5cm x 126cm
