The AkArette II is a distinctive 35mm viewfinder camera produced in the early 1950s by the German firm Apparate & Kamerabau (AkA). At a time when the market was dominated by either high-end Leicas or simple point-and-shoots, the Akarette II occupied a unique middle ground: a compact, well-built camera with interchangeable lenses but without the cost of a rangefinder. Housed in its original leather hardcase.
