This set features two iconic mid-century kitchen tools: a Mouli-Legumes rotary food mill and a Spong & Co. Ltd. No. 102 bean slicer. The Mouli-Legumes, a French invention patented by Jean Mantelet in 1932, revolutionized home cooking by allowing users to easily purée vegetables and fruits. Accompanying it is a classic blue cast-iron Spong No. 102 Bean Slicer, manufactured in England. Spong & Co. was legendary for its durable kitchen machinery from the mid-19th century until the mid-20th century, specifically designed to "string and slice" runner beans. Both items are in authentic vintage condition, showing a desirable aged patina. The Mouli-Legumes exhibits some surface oxidation and wear to the tin plating, while the Spong slicer retains much of its original blue paint with typical scuffs and minor rust spots on the cast iron and handle. Both mechanisms appear intact with original wooden grips.
