Classic mid-century still life oil painting on canvas by the prolific American artist Robert Cox (1934–2001), known for his masterful floral compositions. The piece features a lush bouquet of creamy white and pale pink roses arranged in a simple brown vase, executed with a heavy impasto technique that gives the petals a tactile, three-dimensional quality. Cox was a founding member of the Art Workers Coalition and became famous for these atmospheric, tonalist floral studies that were widely popular in the 1970s and 80s. The painting is housed in a traditional metallic-finished wooden frame; the artwork itself appears to be in excellent vintage condition with vibrant colors and intact textures, while the frame shows only minor age-related scuffing. Dimensions: 56cm x 46cm
