Vintage sideboard, crafted during the 1940s and 1950s, features a distinctive asymmetrical design that blends utility with classic ornamentation. Constructed with a rich imbuia wood, the piece showcases a scalloped gallery backsplash and matching wavy-edge detailing along the top and base. The left side houses a solid wood cupboard door with a decorative raised panel, while the right side offers a sliding glass display area atop two drawers with ornate brass-finished pulls and "linenfold" style carved fronts. Historically, these pieces served as "buffets" or "drinks cabinets" in middle-class homes, designed to exhibit fine glassware while providing storage for linens or cutlery. The cabinet is supported by traditional ball-and-claw feet. In terms of condition, the piece is structurally sound but shows significant signs of age and wear; there is a notable vertical crack and separation in the left cupboard door panel, several surface scuffs and scratches on the wood finish. The interior remains functional, with one drawer featuring its original green felt lining which needs some cleaning. Dimensions: 117cm x 97.5cm x 47cm
