This traditional Chinese calligraphy set features the classic "Four Treasures of the Study" (Wenfang Sibao), essential tools for scholarly scholar-artists, calligraphers, and painterly practice. Housed within a fitted, silk-brocade presentation box lined in red velvet, the set includes a hand-carved natural slate inkstone depicting low-relief wave motifs, an engraved solid ink stick, two bamboo calligraphy brushes, and a blue-and-white porcelain ink water bowl. Overall good vintage condition. The brocade presentation box shows light shelf wear, minor edge fraying, and faint discoloration to the interior cream fabric lining. The carved slate inkstone is intact with light residual ink markings consistent with minimal prior use. The two bamboo brushes remain intact with protective covers/string. The solid ink stick and small porcelain water bowl show no chips or cracks, with crisp blue-and-white character markings present on the base of the porcelain vessel.
