Collection of Vintage Military Uniform Illustration Plates & Reference Binders
This auction lot features a comprehensive collection of vintage military uniform reference materials organized across four multi-ring and clear-pocket binders. The collection includes a diverse array of color plates and detailed illustrations depicting historical military attire from various global powers and eras. Included is a series from the "Heere der Vergangenheit" (Armies of the Past) collection published by Jürgen Olmes in Krefeld, Germany, during the early 1970s; it features vibrant uniform plates of the Royal Württemberg Army (Königlich Württembergische Armee) from 1914–1918, based on original watercolors by noted military illustrator Paul Pietsch and accompanied by historical text by H.-R. von Stein. Additionally, the lot highlights beautifully detailed plates focusing on the Russian Army from 1904–1905, specifically capturing the Kuban Cossacks in uniform and tactical positions, alongside pages showcasing European infantry regiments and classic British and European continental forces. Overall, the collection is in good, vintage condition with the individual plates well-preserved inside protective vinyl sleeves and ring binders, showing only minor age-related edge toning and light shelf wear to the binder covers.
