This impressive 29cm diameter plate features an intricately carved composition in deep red cinnabar style lacquer, showcasing a dense geometric and stylized scrolling floral motif centered around a traditional archaic pattern. The front presents deep, crisp relief carving with a layered border, while the reverse side is finished in smooth black lacquer and bears an incised four-character apocryphal seal mark reading Qianlong Nian Zhi (乾隆年製), which translates to "Made during the reign of Emperor Qianlong". While the mark references the historic Qing Dynasty period (1736–1795), this piece is a vintage 20th-century homage manufactured to emulate the classic Imperial lacquerware of that era. Overall, the item is in excellent vintage condition with sharp, clean detailing on the face and only light, minor surface scuffs on the black-lacquered reverse from gentle handling.
