This vintage mid-20th-century South African "Uno Box" shipping crate is a rustic piece of agricultural history, historically used for transporting farm produce. The exterior panels are stamped with "DOS EIERS / MET SORG" (Afrikaans for "Thirty Eggs, With Care") on the sides, alongside the "UNO BOX" branding on the front and back. Measuring 39cm (h) x 35cm (l) x 38cm (d), the sturdily constructed timber container features horizontal reinforcing slats, iron-banded corners, a top metal carry handle, and a hinged lid secured with a metal latch lock mechanism. Presenting in a beautifully weathered, authentic vintage condition, the wood exhibits a warm, aged patina with natural scuffs, minor chips, and surface wear consistent with active commercial use, while the interior remains spacious, clean, and structurally sound.
