This fine porcelain commemorative collector plate features original artwork by A.H. Barrett depicting the Grosvenor, an East Indiaman captained by John Coxon (1739–1782). Edged with a classic gold rim, the central illustration captures the three-masted vessel under full sail flying the Red Ensign flag.
Crafted by Heritage Porcelain under the Huguenot Royale mark, this piece is part of a worldwide limited edition of 10,000 plates. The back of the plate provides historical detail regarding the 729-ton ship—notably its famous shipwreck off the Pondoland coast on August 4, 1782, and its legendary lost cargo of gold and precious stones.
