This complete vintage Akai stereo stack offers a premium analog audio experience, featuring a sleek black-panel aesthetic and high-quality Japanese engineering. The set includes a Stereo Cassette Deck with Glass & X'Tal Ferrite heads, an AM/FM Stereo Tuner, and an AM-2450 Integrated Amplifier. It is paired with a matching Akai turntable and a formidable set of SW-650S 3-Way Speaker Systems (66cm x 38.5cm), which feature 12-inch woofers and adjustable high/mid-range controls. The faceplates are made of solid brushed aluminum. During this era of Japanese audio production, Akai utilized heavy-gauge metal for their "separates" to ensure durability and a premium feel. This "Black Edition" is a rarer and highly sought-after finish compared to the standard silver. The system is in very good vintage condition, showing well-preserved faceplates; the speakers are clean with intact cones. Included are an original operator's manual and a boxed spare cartridge/stylus. Tested and fully functional.
The individual components in this Hi-Fi stack were manufactured during the late 1970s, specifically between 1978 and 1980. This era was the "golden age" of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment.
