This charming Delft Holland ceramic plate, measuring 25cm in diameter, comes from the Traditional Dutch Tradesmen series (Serie No. 1490) and features a classic blue and white transferware design titled "De Advokaat" ("The Advocate"). The front depicts a detailed interior scene of a lawyer conferring with clients, framed by a delicate floral border. The reverse side features the Oude Molen Fabriek B.V. backstamp along with a poetic English description of the trade: "With lofty words and dramatic gestures he pleads before the lords of justice for his hapless clients." The piece is in good vintage condition with bright glaze and crisp graphics, wth no chips or cracks.
