A handsome Cape mid-century imbuia chest of drawers, strongly evoking traditional 18th-century Cape Dutch styles with its striking ripple-moulded drawer fronts, reeded corners, and shaped side panels. Supported on distinct ball-and-claw feet, the chest features a configuration of two short drawers over four graduating long drawers, all fitted with decorative pierced brass escutcheons and drop handles. The drawers display solid craftsmanship with robust machine-cut dovetail joints. It presents in good, sturdy antique condition with typical age-related wear, light surface scratches, some visible historic varnish or glue runs to the top left side panel, and one upper drawer running slightly unevenly due to minor bottom-edge wear.
