This unique architectural piece is an original wooden post office partitioning screen, featuring a characteristic gabled top centered with a gold-toned number "6" and flanked by turned decorative finials. The substantial frame holds a pane of "West Cape" toughened glass, which includes a circular speaking or pass-through aperture typical of mid-century postal service counters. Measuring 88cm (l) x 100cm (h) x 44.5cm (width at base), the partition is supported by sturdy splayed feet and remains in good structural condition, exhibiting an aged patina with expected surface scuffs, minor chips to the wood, and a small vintage repair to the base.
