Antique wooden Clark’s Filoche thread display cabinet dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, originally used in mercantile and haberdashery stores to display and organise sewing threads. Manufactured by the historic Clark Thread Company, founded in Paisley, Scotland in the 1750s, these branded cabinets became popular during the Victorian era alongside the rise of domestic sewing machines and Clark’s famous “O.N.T.” (“Our New Thread”) cottons. This cabinet features a slanted glass display front, four pull-out compartment drawers, and original painted branding detail to the top panel, making it a highly decorative and collectible piece of sewing and advertising memorabilia. Measures 60.5cm (l) x 43.5cm (w) x 31cm (h). Condition is good vintage overall with age-related wear, fading to lettering, light marks, and minor surface imperfections consistent with age and use.
