These antique spectacles feature classic oval lenses set within a delicate, gold-plated wire frame, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The design includes a fixed "saddle" bridge and fine, curved cable temples (earpieces) characteristic of the era's focus on lightweight functionality. They are accompanied by a period-correct, hard-shell textured leatherette case with a plush, aged interior. The frames show a natural aged patina and minor surface wear consistent with age, while the cable temples remain flexible. The lenses appear intact but exhibit some minor loss of gold plating and oxidation. The inner nose bridge has an engraved symbol what appears to be a "D", it is highly probable these were either British imports or American-made Dupaul frames, which were prized for their durability and classic minimalist aesthetic.
