This authentic vintage "Brilliant Search Light" miner’s lamp is crafted with a solid brass frame, complete with its original, weathered leather head strap. The piece showcases a charming, aged patina consistent with its historical use. The condition is very good for an antique piece, showing expected signs of wear and patina. The "Brilliant Search Light" was manufactured by Rudolph C. Kruschke, who patented the design on October 21, 1902.
While it was marketed to the outdoor community as early as 1899, it began seeing use in mines during the early 1900s, with advertisements appearing in the Acetylene Journal as early as September 1903. The company, originally based in Duluth, Minnesota, relocated to Chicago around 1919 and continued production of these lamps until the late 1930s.
