An exceptional late Victorian occasional chair crafted by the prestigious London makers Blyth & Sons (circa 1870–1890), featuring their original stamped metal badge to the underside of the frame. Characterized by a very low seat height and a striking cross-frame aesthetic, this fixed, non-folding chair showcases a finely hand-woven oval cane back and circular cane seat pan set within an elegantly detailed frame, complete with a scrolled foliage cresting rail, ring-turned stretchers, and prominent architectural posts adorned with carved floral bosses. Measuring 82cm (h) x 52cm (w) x 61cm (d), the piece is in very good, structurally sound antique condition with a rich, dark historic patina and honest, age-appropriate surface wear to the lower legs; the intricate hand-caning remains tight and remarkably well-preserved with only minor localized wear to the seat center.
