This antique full-size (4/4) violin, measuring 60cm in length and 21.5cm in width, is a classic European trade instrument, most likely manufactured in the late 19th or early 20th century within the prominent luthiery regions of Germany (such as Markneukirchen) or France (Mirecourt). These factory-side workshop instruments were widely exported globally and are highly regarded for their robust tonewoods, featuring a two-piece maple back with a subtle flame and a spruce top. The instrument is in heavily weathered, fair antique condition and is being sold strictly as-is for restoration: it shows significant varnish wear, a missing fingerboard and bridge, a missing peg, and includes only one remaining wire string. It comes housed in its highly distressed, original fabric-lined wood shell case, presenting an excellent restoration project for a luthier or a striking rustic display piece.
