A charming Victorian-style pressed brass estate plaque featuring a darkly humorous deterrent to trespassers: "Take notice that as from today's date poachers shall be shot on first sight and if practicable questioned afterwards." Attributed by order of Head Gamekeeper J.R. Bramble to "His Grace the Duke of Gumby" and dated 1st November 1868, the plaque is surmounted by an armorial crest and finished with an ornate foliate and rope-twist relief border. It includes four pre-drilled corner holes for wall mounting, measuring 11.5cm W x 10cm H.

The plaque is in good vintage condition, displaying an authentic, aged patina with natural tonal darkening and minor surface wear consistent with age.
