This mid-to-late 19th-century homeopathic apothecary box is crafted from figured walnut with a striking burr veneer front and features a brass escutcheon and a lower campaign-style recessed handle. The interior lid retains its original black leather-effect lining, prominently gold-stamped with the maker's mark for "Allshorn Homeopathic Chemist, 51 Edgware Rd," a well-known London establishment of the Victorian era. Designed for organization, the unit includes a primary top compartment and a specialized pull-out drawer with segmented dividers for medicinal vials. Condition is fair to good for its age; the wood displays a rich patina with some expected surface wear, including a visible chip to the veneer at the top edge of the lid and some lifting/tearing to the interior lining.
