Originally used to transport fuel ("Motor Spirit"), the box features distinct bold stenciling that includes the iconic winged Texaco emblem, "Zenith Motor Spirit," "2-4 Imp. Gals.," and red outline lettering reading "Highly Inflammable" across the sides. Before modern bulk fuel delivery and underground pumps became widespread in the 1910s and 1920s, petroleum products were shipped globally in metal cans packed inside durable, branded timber crates like this one.
