This first edition Afrikaans autobiography offers an intimate look into the life and creative philosophy of renowned South African sculptor Coert Steynberg. Published by CUM-Boeke in 1982, the volume is a standard collector's edition, hand-numbered 976 of only 800 copies (from the 201–1000 series). The book is richly illustrated with photographs of Steynberg’s monumental works, such as the Kruger head, and more avant-garde pieces like his "Kleur en Vorm" mobiles and bronze sculptures. The dust jacket features a striking commissioned portrait of the artist by Isa Steynberg, adding a personal layer to this significant record of South African art history. Well looked after.
