This large, hand-carved polychrome wooden statue is an exceptional example of a West African Colon figure, depicting a dapper gentleman styled in a striking yellow jacket, a detailed blue waistcoat, white trousers, and a grey wide-brimmed fedora. Featuring an expressive face and hands tucked neatly into his pockets, the folk art piece exhibits a highly desirable, weathered patina. It shows honest, age-appropriate wear and flaws, including noticeable paint chipping and scuffing concentrated along the lower edges of the waistcoat, the bottom hems of the trousers, the shoes, and small surface scuffs on the face and hat.
