This is a rare find! Blue and white ginger jar with lid. This jar is made of stoneware clay, a natural material used in the 18th and 19th centuries. The exterior is glazed with a natural patina of crackle in the glaze developed over many centuries. Likely manufactured in England or France during the 19th century, originally used for storing products. It has aged well, with some visible signs of age and use like crackling in the glaze and some chips in the clay at the mouth when you lift the lid. Nothing serious for an antique statement piece! Item is larger than it appears in the photo, and very heavy in weight. It stands on a Chinese reddish-brown wooden carved stand which compliments the jar. Dimensions: 28cm (jar height only) x 26cm (w). Chinese Stand: 7cm (h)
