This is a significant first edition of Moerbeibos (The Mulberry Forest), published in 1987 by Tafelberg-Uitgewers. Written by the renowned South African author Dalene Matthee, this novel is part of her celebrated "Forest Novels" series set in the Knysna forest. The story follows a group of Italian silk-immigrants who arrive in the Cape in the 1880s, only to find themselves misled and struggling for survival in a landscape far harsher than promised.
