Written by the prolific Afrikaans author Johann Bekker, this 1964 adventure novel follows a search and rescue mission in the rugged bushveld of the Northern Transvaal after a Cessna aircraft goes missing. Bekker was well-known for his engaging youth literature and "ontspanningslektuur" (leisure reading) that often captured the atmosphere of rural South Africa. This second printing by Nasionale Boekhandel features a classic dust jacket designed by K.M. Schöltz and offers a nostalgic look at mid-century Afrikaans fiction. The book is in fair to good vintage condition; while the binding is intact, the interior shows significant foxing and age-spotting throughout, and the dust jacket has been repaired with tape, leaving visible adhesive residue on the inner flaps and endpapers.
