This striking antique Chinese tripod vessel, standing 22cm tall and weighing 1,7kg, features hand-etched decorative detailing including a traditional dragon motif, standard key frets, and an auspicious endless knot design. Originating from China during the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic period (circa late 19th to early 20th century), brass cauldrons and censers of this style were traditionally produced by regional brass-smiths for use as incense burners or decorative household planters. The bulbous body rests securely on three classic cabriole feet, highlighting the textured scales of the etched dragon artwork. The piece is in good antique condition, exhibiting a natural, aged patina with minor surface tarnish, light scuffs, and historical oxidization/residue to the interior chamber, showcasing intricate upper geometric borders and bands surrounding the rim.
