The underside of the base is stamped with the "British Made" mark alongside the distinctive registered trademark of a "V" inside a trefoil/clover leaf, identifying it as a genuine piece manufactured by the renowned Veritas company (originally Falk, Stadelmann & Co.), likely dating from the early-to-mid 20th century. Structurally intact, the brass body shows a natural aged patina, minor surface wear, and light scuffs consistent with its age and history. The burner mechanism remains attached with its original wick adjustment knob present, though it shows surface tarnish, a minor crack on the top cap rim, and requires a replacement glass chimney and wick to be fully operational.
