An elegant late Victorian silver-plated teapot crafted in Sheffield by William Briggs & Co. Features a distinctive rectangular compressed body supported by four spherical ball feet, detailed hand-engraved floral scrollwork, and an unengraved reserve shield on the side. The design is accented with a scroll handle with heat insulators, an ornate acanthus-moulded spout, and a hinged lid topped with a disc finial. Good antique condition overall with surface wear, faint scratching, and natural tarnish appropriate to age. The lid hinge and handle remain secure and intact. Stamped on the underside with maker marks: "4 / WM BRIGGS & CO / SHEFFIELD / 900". Dimensions: 17cm h x 26cm w (spout to handle)
